About Me

I'm a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach passionate about helping women build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits. My coaching combines evidence-based fitness and nutrition strategies with personalized support to help women achieve lasting results that fit their lifestyle.

Hi, I'm Laurie.Like many of my clients, my journey into fitness began with frustration. I tried countless popular programs, diets, and fitness trends that promised results—everything from workout programs and gym memberships to Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, and various cleanses. While some provided short-term success, nothing truly stuck. I always found myself falling back into old habits because I didn't understand what actually created sustainable results.I worked with personal trainers and learned how to exercise, but I still wasn't given the knowledge, support, and lifestyle strategies needed to make lasting changes outside of the gym.Everything changed when I invested in a coach who provided both fitness and nutrition guidance. For the first time, I learned how to train effectively, fuel my body properly, and build habits that supported my goals long-term. More importantly, I learned why these things worked. That experience inspired me to pursue formal education and certifications in personal training and nutrition coaching so I could help other women avoid the years of confusion, frustration, and trial-and-error that I experienced.Today, my coaching goes beyond workouts and meal plans. I take a whole-person approach that considers not only fitness and nutrition, but also factors like sleep, stress, mindset, and lifestyle. My goal is to help women build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits while providing the education and support they need to create lasting change.I don't want my clients to feel dependent on a coach forever. I want them to understand why they're doing what they're doing so they can confidently maintain their results and continue their journey long after our coaching relationship ends.

What My Clients are Saying

Laurie is a top coach that I highly recommend! I have been training with her for 2+ years with the goal of feeling better in my body every day and I feel more motivated than ever. She creates personalized and comprehensive workout plans for my unique goals and helps me stay motivated and accountable. Before working with Laurie I lacked confidence when I walked into a gym and felt out of place. Now the gym is my happy safe place!

Jori

Laurie is my biggest motivator. An outstanding coach, and truly an inspiration. She kicks me in the butt when I need it, answers all my questions no matter how big or how small, but also tells me when it’s ok to rest my body or cut myself some slack. This way I don’t become overwhelmed or hyper focused on success, that I don’t lose sight of the end goal

Kat

I was miserable with my body and couldn't get the scale to move. I was completely lost at the gym and had no idea how to program my workouts. Reaching out to Laurie was the best decision I made. She not only helped me get down to the 100's, but she gave me the education to maintain it. I now know how to manage my macros, even when eating at a restaurant or getting takeout. Her focus is on teaching you to be independent, and it works! I highly recommend Laurie if you're ready to stop guessing and start learning how to get real results.

Strength Training & Body Recomposition

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to fitness. Every program I develop is customized specifically to you, your goals, your experience level, your available equipment (home or gym), and any injuries or limitations you may have. Before your program is created, we'll review your health history, exercise experience, lifestyle, goals, and any challenges you may be facing. I've worked with clients with a variety of injuries, limitations, and movement restrictions, and together we'll develop a plan that allows you to continue progressing safely and effectively.Whether you train at home, in a commercial gym, or through in-person sessions, your program will be built around the resources available to you. We'll also determine an appropriate training frequency based on your current lifestyle and experience level. For many clients, success starts with fewer training days while we focus on building consistency and confidence before gradually progressing over time.If you choose online coaching, your workouts will be delivered through an app that provides detailed instructions, exercise demonstrations, sets, reps, and progress tracking. You'll always know exactly what to do and how to do it. We'll also review exercise form through video submissions or virtual coaching to ensure you're moving safely and effectively. If you choose in-person coaching, I'll provide hands-on instruction, exercise demonstrations, real-time feedback, and ongoing support as you develop confidence in the gym.My goal isn't simply to help you exercise more. It's to help you build strength, increase muscle, improve body composition, and develop the knowledge and confidence needed to maintain your results long-term.

Nutrition Coaching & Habit Change

While exercise plays an important role in improving health and body composition, nutrition and lifestyle habits are often the foundation of long-term success. Many people believe they need to completely overhaul their lives to see results. In reality, lasting change is usually built through small, consistent actions that accumulate over time. My coaching focuses on identifying the habits that will have the greatest impact on your goals and implementing them in a realistic and sustainable way.Together, we'll look at your current lifestyle, eating habits, routines, stress levels, sleep, daily activity, and other factors that influence your health and progress. From there, we'll create a personalized plan that works with your life rather than against it.When it comes to body composition goals such as fat loss or muscle gain, nutrition matters. While the saying "you can't out-train a poor diet" may be oversimplified, there is truth behind it. The body requires adequate fuel, nutrients, and protein to support performance, recovery, muscle growth, and overall health. My approach does not involve restrictive diets, eliminating entire food groups, or forcing you to eat foods you dislike. I believe nutrition should be enjoyable, flexible, and sustainable. I'll help you learn how to incorporate the foods you love while still making progress toward your goals.Clients receive individualized nutrition coaching, practical education, accountability, and access to a large collection of recipes and meal ideas. More importantly, you'll learn the skills and strategies needed to make confident nutrition decisions long after coaching ends. The goal is not perfection. The goal is creating habits that support your health and goals while still allowing you to enjoy your life.

Pre- & Postnatal Fitness

Pregnancy and postpartum are two of the most physically and emotionally demanding seasons of a woman's life. While every pregnancy and recovery journey is unique, one thing remains consistent: movement matters.Research has shown that remaining physically active during pregnancy can help reduce the risk of gestational diabetes, excessive gestational weight gain, pregnancy-related hypertension, low back pain, and may contribute to improved physical and mental well-being throughout pregnancy. Regular exercise can also improve strength, endurance, and overall fitness, helping prepare your body for the demands of labor, delivery, and recovery. You do not need to be an experienced exerciser to benefit from movement during pregnancy. Whether you've been strength training for years or are just getting started, exercise can be adapted to your experience level, stage of pregnancy, energy levels, and individual needs.Every pregnancy is different. How you feel in one trimester may be completely different from the next, and every woman experiences pregnancy differently. My coaching meets you where you are. Together, we'll adjust your training based on how you're feeling, your medical history, your healthcare provider's recommendations, and your changing needs throughout pregnancy. My goal is not simply to keep you active during pregnancy—it's to help you build a strong foundation that supports both your pregnancy and your postpartum recovery.Following childbirth, exercise can play an important role in rebuilding strength, restoring confidence, improving energy levels, supporting mental health, and helping women safely return to activities they enjoy. Postpartum fitness is not about "bouncing back." It's about rebuilding, healing, and supporting your body through a significant life transition. As mothers, we also have the opportunity to model healthy behaviors for our children. When children grow up seeing movement, exercise, strength, and self-care as normal parts of life, they often develop a healthier relationship with physical activity themselves.Whether you're preparing for motherhood, navigating pregnancy, or rebuilding strength after childbirth, I'm here to help you move safely, confidently, and effectively through every stage of the journey.

Perimenopause & Menopause Fitness

As someone who is beginning to navigate the perimenopause journey myself, I became passionate (ok, maybe obsessed) about learning everything I could about this stage of life. I wanted to understand what was happening in my body, why certain changes occur, and what evidence-based strategies can help women feel their best throughout the menopause transition and beyond. That passion led me to pursue specialized menopause education so I could help other women navigate this often confusing and misunderstood stage of life with confidence. One of the challenges women face today is the overwhelming amount of misinformation surrounding menopause. Social media, magazines, and internet searches often provide conflicting advice, leaving many women feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure who to trust. My goal is to provide evidence-based guidance grounded in current research while helping women understand what is happening in their bodies and what practical steps they can take to support their health.Perimenopause and menopause are natural biological transitions that every woman will experience. In fact, women may spend nearly one-third to one-half of their lives in postmenopause. Rather than viewing menopause as the beginning of decline, I believe it can be viewed as a new chapter—one that presents opportunities to prioritize strength, health, resilience, and long-term wellbeing.Every woman's experience is different. Some women experience significant symptoms while others notice only subtle changes. Hormonal fluctuations can affect energy levels, recovery, body composition, sleep quality, mood, appetite, strength, and overall wellbeing. What works for one woman may not work for another. The good news is that many of the factors that influence healthy aging remain within our control.Research consistently supports strength training as one of the most powerful tools available during the menopause transition. Strength training helps preserve and build muscle mass, support bone health, improve insulin sensitivity, enhance physical function, and maintain independence as we age.Nutrition also plays a critical role. Adequate protein intake, proper fueling, hydration, and overall dietary quality can support muscle retention, recovery, energy levels, and body composition during this stage of life.In addition to exercise and nutrition, factors such as sleep, stress management, recovery, and daily movement can have a significant impact on how women feel throughout the menopause transition. My coaching takes all of these factors into account. Together, we'll develop a personalized plan that reflects your unique symptoms, goals, lifestyle, and stage of menopause. Whether you're looking to improve body composition, increase strength, support bone health, manage symptoms, or simply better understand what your body is experiencing, you'll receive guidance that is tailored specifically to you.Knowledge is power. My goal is to help you understand your body, feel confident in your choices, and navigate this transition with strength, confidence, and support.

What to Look for in a Personal Trainer

Choosing a personal trainer is about more than finding someone who can write workouts or count reps. The right coach should take the time to understand you as an individual, build a program that reflects your goals and circumstances, and provide guidance that is safe, effective, and sustainable. Here are a few things I believe every client should look for when choosing a trainer or coach:1. Individualized Programming
No two clients are the same, and your program should reflect that. A good trainer should take into account your goals, exercise history, training experience, lifestyle, available equipment, and any injuries or limitations before developing a plan. Be cautious of trainers who hand you a workout program immediately or provide the same program to every client without first getting to know you.
2. A Thorough Health & Exercise History
A professional trainer should ask about more than just your fitness goals. They should gather information about your exercise background, injuries, surgeries, medical history, pregnancies or postpartum status where relevant, and anything else that could affect your training. This helps ensure your program is both safe and appropriate for your body and circumstances.
3. Proper Certification & Ongoing Education
Make sure your trainer is certified through a reputable organization and is committed to continuing education. Fitness and nutrition are constantly evolving, and a good coach should stay current with best practices, research, and training methods. You should feel comfortable asking where they are certified and whether they participate in ongoing professional development.
4. Insurance & Professionalism
A professional trainer should carry liability insurance and be willing to provide proof if asked. This protects both the trainer and the client and reflects a serious, professional approach to coaching.
5. Flexibility & Willingness to Adjust
Training should never feel like forcing your body into a rigid plan that doesn't fit your life. A good coach listens to feedback, adjusts your programming when needed, and works with you through setbacks, scheduling changes, injuries, stress, and life circumstances. Your program should evolve with you.
6. Clear Communication & Ongoing Support
A strong coaching relationship involves more than workouts. Your trainer should communicate clearly, answer questions, provide feedback, and make sure you feel confident in what you're doing. You should never feel left on your own wondering whether you're doing things correctly or whether your program is still the right fit.
7. References, Testimonials & Real Client Experience
A reputable coach should be able to provide testimonials, reviews, or even references from current or past clients. Hearing about someone else's experience can help you understand what it's actually like to work with that coach and whether their style will be a good fit for you.
8. An Approach That Supports Long-Term Success
Be cautious of anyone who relies heavily on extremes, quick fixes, unrealistic promises, or one-size-fits-all plans. Good coaching should help you build habits, confidence, strength, and knowledge that you can carry with you long after the coaching relationship ends.
At the end of the day, your trainer should make you feel supported, respected, and confident that your program was designed for you—not pulled from a template. Coaching should feel collaborative, individualized, and built around helping you make sustainable progress.
